The recent economy has been a little rough on me and my family. It took a while, but we had finally saved up enough money to take a budget family vacation. It was our first one in, well, forever. We had rented a small lake cabin for a week up in the mountains, and we’re all so excited to get away for a while. The only drawback was that it was a 10 hour drive to the lake. Oh, well, we thought, the wait would be worth it.
About two hours from our destination, things started to go bad. All of a sudden, our usually reliable car started having engine problems. I’m not much of a car-guy, but I knew something was wrong. We pulled off the highway and found a garage that was close-by. We left the car with the mechanic and went and got some lunch, hoping and praying nothing was serious with the car and we could get back on the road.
Well, our worst fears came true. Something (I don’t remember what exactly) had “blown” on the engine. The good news was the mechanic said he could fix it in a couple hours. The bad news, the REALLY bad news, was that it was going to cost us $400 that we didn’t have unless we cancelled our vacation. The mechanic overheard my wife and me discussing our dilemma. He recommended Eastside Lenders for a payday loan. He said they could get me cash quickly and I could even apply online. I had some friends who had done payday loans before, but wasn’t really sure how they worked. Joe (the mechanic), took us into his office and let us use his computer.
I looked over the site, and decided to give it a shot. It was either Eastside Lenders, or cancel our vacation. I filled out the application online and submitted it. I couldn’t believe how quickly they got back to me. After agreeing to a small financing fee, I was about to save the family vacation! We got a motel room for the night, and had some time to explore the local area which turned out to be kind of fun. The next day, I had my money which had been deposited directly into my bank account, my car was fixed and we were off to enjoy our vacation.
